Driftwood.....
It's a mystery -even to me- why I love driftwood so much…. I just do.
The thing I know I love the most about that place is that it's never the same…
all the pieces get rearranged and I discover new things each time.

Sometimes more than dead trees wash up.

I very much related to this picture since I get intense migraines. Big Talbot Island - June 2013

Another one from the sunrise at Big Talbot Island... Dec 31, 2012

This was one of the RARE occasions I was up and out early enough to catch a sunrise! And it's one of my favorite spots: Big Talbot Island!

I had to make this in B/W too... I love them both.

Driftwood at Big Talbot Island... This was from my first visit there - I was absolutely AMAZED at the size of wood out there!

To me this looks like dueling driftwood. Big Talbot Island - June 2013

I was trying to capture the essence of how big and long these pieces of driftwood are... as this one is, I was standing in front of the trunk part which was quite a few more feet behind me! I am not happy about the horizon line being directly in the center of the picture though! (This is actually a "smaller" piece) Big Talbot Island - April 2013

I like the three sections of sand, water, sky behind the simple piece of driftwood. Big Talbot Island - June 2013

In Black & White, it kind of gives a sense of a storm coming.

Love when the clouds are Ahhh-MAZZZ-ING!!! So glad I got a chance to go somewhere to take pictures….so many of the pictures came out great with these clouds!

Immediately when I saw this I thought it looked like a fractured arm… But as I was taking a picture of it, I noticed it looked like the face (or the eyes) of an owl! It always fun to see what driftwood abstract I will find! There is ALWAYS something!

If you look at the whole beach it just looks like a big mangled mess…. somewhere in that mess you can see the beauty of it all… But it's when you start looking at each piece that you start to see how amazing each one is.

Now this is what I call "overwhelming"… Most of the time the driftwood is pretty spread out and sometimes like here, it gathers all in the same place to make a giant mess.

I had a short visit at Big Talbot Island to get some shots of the driftwood in that beautiful weather. Big Talbot Island - April 2013

I think this perspective is my favorite… It feels like "we" are the tree. It looks like the tree is reaching for something… but its always just out of reach!

It's a mystery -even to me- why I love driftwood so much…. I just do. Add some clouds and voila! We get an amazing picture. The thing I know I love the most about that place is that it's never the same…all the pieces get rearranged and I discover new things each time.

I see a triangles. Driftwood from Little Talbot Island from our sunrise venture. Jacksonville, FL- Dec 2012

Me & Mom got up at 5 am to be there for the sunrise at Big Talbot Island....first time I did anything like that, what a great experience! I can't wait to do it again!!! Dec. 31, 2012
